About Us

Hi, welcome! My name is Melissa Cushnie. Growing up, my close family members and friends affectionately call me Mel, hence our company's name. This line's idea is 12yrs in the making and born out of my neglect to properly care for my tools, which resulted in a series of acne breakouts. My experience taught me well; I knew what I wanted in a kit; something that was both makeup brush friendly and skin-friendly. So I set about learning the cosmetics industry's ins and outs to bring my vision to life. Fun Fact: It took almost 3yrs to formulate this entire kit. Thankfully my path was grace by passionate and knowledgeable formulators who are serious about what they do & generously share their knowledge on how to formulate correctly, which helped me navigate the cosmetic and personal care marketplace. Though I am still learning new things every day, it also gave me the confidence needed to make this happen. After much research, I found an online school where I was able to earn a certificate in Natural Cosmetics Formulating, which helped me to further perfect my skills and know-how.

I want to take this time to thank God and my family for their support.

My God, where would I be without you? Thank you for lighting my path for being ever loving, patient, kind, and caring as I continue to evolve into the woman you've made me to be.

To my amazing kids for their encouraging words, loving support, and moments of daydreaming with me and listening to my spiels. Never too busy to lend me their ears, eyes, and opinions on things. Sharing statements like, "Mom, I can't wait for your business to blow up (meaning go big) and for you to sell out of everything." The truth is, those precious times carried me through moments when things seemed grim. You guys are my reasons. We did it! Love you always!
